Learn the most popular system for automating the deployment, scaling and management of containerized applications

Overview

The course is designed to provide Software Architects, Tech Lead, Developers and other IT professionals with a comprehensive understanding of Kubernetes, an open-source platform for automating the deployment, scaling and operations of application containers.

It presents the Kubernetes architecture, its core objects and the range of practical skills needed to deploy, manage and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters.

Objectives

By the end of the course, the participants will:

Understand the Kubernetes architecture and components
Install and configure Kubernetes clusters
Deploy, manage and scale containerized applications
Use Kubernetes networking, storage and security features
Monitor and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters
Implement multiple best practices for managing Kubernetes clusters

Duration and Schedule

The minimum course duration is 3 days, 6 or 7 hours per day. If possible, we highly advise to allocate a longer duration, for more hands-on work and for creating an end-to-end Kubernetes application.

Each course session will be composed of a theoretical and a practical part. The ratio between the theoretical and practical components will vary depending on:

The complexity of the discussed topic
The questions and discussions related to it
The participant's interest in that topic

Prerequisites

The participants should have:

Basic understanding of containerization concepts - images, containers, registries and repositories
Familiarity with Linux command-line operations is welcomed, but not essential
Experience with system administration and/or software development, especially in understanding the CI&CD concepts
